ASOS + Diet Coke #TreasureHunk Prizes and Nails

If you follow ASOS on any of their social media, you might be aware of their #TreasureHunk competition with Diet Coke.  You have to watch a daily clue given by one of the lovely male models at ASOS and search the answer on the ASOS website, once you find a hunk amongst all of the clothes, you enter your email and are in a daily draw to win fab prizes from Diet Coke.  I was lucky enough that I won one of the draws and here I am showing you guys the cool prizes, as well as some nails I did for the occasion as well.

Image.ie Blog Awards 2014 - I'M SHORTLISTED!

Hey guys!  I've some exciting news, I've been shortlisted in the Best Beauty Blog category for the Image Blog Awards.  It's the first time anything like this has happened for the blog and I'm so excited.  I'd really appreciate it if you guys could put a vote my way (if you think I'm deserving that is, which I hope you do LOL)  I've got some stiff competition but every little helps, right?  Click the picture below to be taken to the website to vote.  Feel free to share this post, I won't complain!

Don't worry, we'll be getting back to regularly scheduled blogging soon.  I just took the Bank Holiday off to do nothing other than watch True Blood and stew in my emotions and I was working the past few days so didn't have much time to write up stuff but I'll be back with a cool post about a little prize I won with ASOS and Diet Coke so all will be revealed, until next time!

True to the End True Blood Nail Art

If you've been following my blog for a while, you would know that I'm a HUGE fan of television (as demonstrated by my numerous inspired by posts) and one of my favourite shows of all time is True Blood.  True Blood will be showing it's final ever episode tonight in the USA (24/8/14) and I knew I had to do some nail art to commemorate the occasion.

Kiko Milano Poker Nail Lacquer* Swatches and Review

So it's August, which means that I'm already wearing a kind of heavy coat and scarf in the morning because it's freezing here and it's supposedly summer so it's all a bit awkward but the arrival of cold weather means that I get to be excited about the new autumn/winter releases from all of the different brands out there!

Today I'm showing you four nail lacquers from Kiko Makeup Milano's Daring Game collection, inspired by Bond Girls and the quintessential casino setting.  You not only get the sense of sophistication and luxury from the colours themselves but also from the packaging, as you can see below, so let's get started!

Inspired by...Game of Thrones (Queen Margaery Nail Art)

For followers of my blog, it's no secret that I love Game of Thrones.  I've watched every episode, I'm trying to read the books (it's really disheartening when you've been reading for hours and you've only moved up 3%!) and if you squint hard enough during the weddings, trials and coronations in Kings Landing, you might just see a blur that kind of looks like me.  Game of Thrones has been one of the biggest inspirations behind my nail art and when I first started my Game of Thrones nails, my skills weren't the best and I'd like to think I've improved so here I am, adding even more to my Game of Thrones corner of the blog by showing you some nails inspired by Margaery's dress from her wedding to Joffrey.

IMAGE Skincare - The Max Trial Kit* Review

So whilst I was at the Wet n Wild event a few weeks ago in Belfast, I also received The Max system trial kit from IMAGE to try out.  Now I'm really picky when it comes to skincare because I have sensitive skin, or rather, I have very sensitive eyes that are easily irritated by most skincare products but I thought I'd branch out and give these products a go.

Crocodile Nails for Kaiser Chiefs @ Feile 2014

So here's a bit of a random inspiration behind today's nail art.  I'm off to see the Kaiser Chiefs tonight in Falls Park as a part of the 2014 Feile, which is a large community festival here in Belfast.  It keeps getting bigger and bigger every year and I honestly can't believe I'm going to see one of my favourite bands in the park down the road LOL

Inspired by...Guardians of the Galaxy

It is in this post where I get back to the geeky, fandom roots of this blog.  As soon as I came out of Guardians of the Galaxy, the latest film that's a part of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), I knew I'd have to show my utter LOVE for the film by trying to capture aspects of the Guardians on my nails so here we go!  I would usually list all of the polishes I used below but there were so many I'm not going to but if you want to know a particular shade, let me know :-)

L-R: Peter Quill/Starlord's Helmet, Rocket Raccoon's Eye, Gamora Ombré, Groot and Drax's Scars/Tattoos

So I hope you guys like these nails.  I know they're a bit abstract but I didn't want to go for straight up portraits or anything like that.  Have you guys seen Guardians of the Galaxy yet?  You really should!  Be sure to subscribe, like, follow or join the Flailing list over on the side bar or through the links below, until next time!

Pastel Pride

So Gay Pride comes a bit later to Belfast than other places around the world but it's this weekend and even though I'm working the whole entire time, I'm going to find some time before my shift tomorrow to enjoy a bit of the parade and of course I had to do nails to match!

I think it's fantastic that in a place that can be seen as being quite archaic at times that Pride has become such a mainstream event and so I hope everyone has a fabulous and safe time :D

Models Own Pastel Pink, Peach Melba, Lemon Meringue, Green Gladiola and Blueberry Muffin

So for my nails, I had to of course incorporate the rainbow of colours onto my nails and I thought doing a pastel skittle would be a subtle way of using the colours and by placing the lace detailing on top, it makes the whole look soft and delicate.  It's a little bit different from your usual Pride manicures but I hope you like it.

How have you celebrated Pride on your nails?  Let me know in the comments below and be sure to like and subscribe by all the following sites, until next time :D
